Levitation France announces its 2025 lineup.

Levitation France has announced its full (?) lineup for 2025, and they’ve packed a lot of good bands into just two nights.

Vendredi (Friday) brings in Italy’s New Candys (whose new album, so far, sounds pretty cool), UK’s Ditz (a sharp new post-punk band), Spain’s Hinds (also promoting a new album), Danish metal giants Kadavar, and the U.S.’ own Blonde Redhead.

Samedi (Saturday) has Angers post-punkers Rest Up, UK’s mysterious HONESTY, goth-queen Heartworms, experimental psych-rockers Bryan’s Magic Tears, and psych-proggers bdrmm, plus the U.S.’ synthwave duo Boy Harsher, and finally French psych heavyweights The LimiƱanas.

It’s a good lineup with some serious rock in it this year, and it’s in a new location – a pyramid on a lakefront, no less. Don’t miss it.

Levitation releases 2025 lineup for Austin Psych Fest and the first wave of bands for Levitation France.

The good folks at Levitation and the Reverberation Appreciation Society have unveiled the full lineup for the 2025 Austin Psych Fest.

They’re playing heavy this year. The first night alone unleashes Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Black Mountain, Kadavar, and Blackwater Holylight on you. Kim Gordon shows up Saturday night to wallop you, and then Dinosaur Jr. closes Sunday night. That’s a lot of decibels in three nights.

As if that weren’t a big enough announcement, they also announced the first three bands for Levitation France this year: Blonde Redhead, Boy Harsher, and Kadavar. Three powerhouses already booked, and that’s just the start.

Tickets are on sale now for both festivals. Don’t miss either.

Levitation France announces first wave of 2022 lineup.

Levitation France has announced the first group of bands scheduled to play the 2022 festival in the cool town of Angers. This is also the first year the festival will be a three-day event. Tickets are on sale now.

The lineup is already looking good. The Brian Jonestown Massacre will surely bring in a large crowd, and it will be cool to see Kim Gordon perform. Death Valley Girls and Frankie and the Witch Fingers always put on good performances, and I won’t miss Automatic‘s set.

I’m hoping to see Earthless, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Shame, and Dry Cleaning on the bill. Don’t miss out on it if you can get there.

Levitation France announces dates and first wave of lineup.

Great news from Angers, France – Levitation France returns this September.

It will be an open air event this year, and the initial lineup is already top-notch. Shame have released my favorite album of the year so far, The LimiƱanas are among the elite of French psychedelia, Slift are a powerhouse, Anika‘s new album is beautiful, and Zombie Zombie put on a killer show.

I’d go to this if I weren’t already locked into plans for that weekend (and as long as travel is open to Europe). You should go in my stead and tell me how it went. Tickets are already available.

Keep your mind open.

Levitation France announces dates and first wave of line-up.

Music festivals are still scheduled in countries that have figured out how to handle a pandemic, and one of them is Levitation France October 09-10, 2020. Levitation Austin has been postponed until 2021, but the French festival in the groovy town of Angers is already touting its first lineup announcements.

Fontaines D.C. and Squid are current alternative rock darlings, and Zombie Zombie are personal favorites that I would love to see at Le Quai. I’ve heard good stuff from Black Country, New Road, and Slift seems to be everywhere on YouTube right now.

I don’t know if travelers from the U.S. will be allowed in France by October, but I might have to change my vacation plans if they are.

Levitation France announces first wave of 2019 lineup.

The 2019 Levitation France music festival has released its first announcement of the bands playing at the Le Quai performance center in Angers, France September 20-21st.

There are some interesting choices right out of the gate. Fat White Family makes intriguing psychedelic rock, Iceage, the Warlocks, and Black Midi will provide some of the loudest sets of the weekend, and New Candys bring in some great Italian shoegaze. I need to research the other bands. There might be a new favorite on this list I haven’t yet discovered.
