
Located at 1272 North Milwaukee Avenue, Shuga Records is a treasure trove of vinyl and other treats for music lovers.

That’s just two aisles of stuff in here. The store is deceptively long. You wouldn’t guess from the outside that it’s so deep. The stock seems to stretch out for a half-block. Their hip hop and rap section is impressive, and there’s another room on the right side of this image with even more vinyl in it.

A large portion of this is made up of 7″ singles, and there’s a good amount of obscure tapes and CDs as well, kept locked up in cases.


Those are just the cass-singles. There were many cases of cassettes, and even a case of coasters designed to look like sheets of blotter acid.

I didn’t walk out with anything, but a record collector could easily blow a couple hours here. Give it a look if you’re in the neighborhood.
